Barbara O'Malley Obituary

Barbara Emma O'Malley, recently from Dallas, Tx, originally from Glenview, was born January 23, 1961 and returned to Gods loving arms July 21, 2017. Barbie loved her family, friends and flowers. She enjoyed her many years in the Interior Design field in Chicago and Dallas. Her love for reading and current events guaranteed she always had something interesting to contribute. Preceded in death by our mother, Jean Byrnes O'Malley, Barbie leaves a deep sadness within our family, including siblings, Martha Lussier (Bob) Melissa Moore (the late Steve) Edward O'Malley (Timi) Jeane Kovacs (John) Tom O'Malley (Tiffany) nieces and nephews Katie Orleans (Jason) Mary, Grace & Claire Lussier, Mallary, Beau & Austin Whitsitt, Megan Drummond (Nick) Erin, Caitlyn & Alison O'Malley, 6 great nieces and nephews, other family and friends. Visitation 9:15-10 am, Saturday August 12, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Glenview, followed by Mass at 10 am. Our gratitude and appreciation extends to the staff of First Presbyterian Hospice of Dallas. In lieu of flowers please donate in Barbara's name to Sister Paulanne's Needy Family Fund, 1775 Grove Street, Glenview, Il 60025

Barbara was SO happy and enthusiastic in every interaction. She always gave me great advice. It's so sad that we've lost this bright star. I worked with Barbara at Marshall Fields Oriental Rug Dept and also at my design shop in Glenview. So shocked to hear this news. She will be missed. My condolences to the family.

Dear O'Malleys, so very sad for your loss but I know all those precious memories will sustain you & be a source of enriching comfort. Barbie's spirit soars now and look for signs of her presence...per chance, some star dust nearby and routine visits from a fine-feathered creature. Take care & love to all, Suellen

I am deeply saddened to hear about your sweet sister's passing. "Babs" brightened up my life! I was lucky that our paths crossed when I was at Indiana University and afterwards. Special memories of Babs will forever warm my heart!

May her special spirit and treasured memories comfort you!

My deepest sympathy,

Mary Porcaro

My love, thoughts and prayers go out to you my dear O'Malley cousins Martha, Melissa, Ed, Jeane and Tom. You and Barbie have always held such a very special place in my heart. I know you are all going to miss Barbie so very much but she is also now happy in her eternal home with your Mom and someday we will all be reunited with them.

I so wish I could be with you Saturday but please know that my heart will be with you all.
