CARL TEJERA Obituary

Carl G. Tejera, 61, of Hoffman Estates, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 25 at Pepper Family Hospice surrounded by family. Carlos was born in Havana, Cuba on February 1, 1951. The family fled Cuba in the early 1960's and settled in Wisconsin. After joining United Airlines, Carl relocated to Chicago, IL. Throughout his 40 year career at UA, he made many lifelong friends. Carl was part of United's Special Assistance Team that helped the families of 9/11 victims in both New York City and Shanksville. He was passionate about treating people with respect, doing the right thing, and most of all being a loving father to his two children. Carl is survived by two children, Brandon Clark Tejera and Marisa Rachel Tejera; sisters Mayra Tejera-Vollmar and Marta Tejera Suarez; brother-in-law Otto Suarez and nephews Kent and Keith Vollmar. A memorial service was held at Willow Creek Community Church on Friday, July 27. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by DuPage Cremations, Ltd. and Memorial Chapel. 800-588-1132.
