I knew Dan from the inline hockey rink where we both played and he reffed. He gave me my first penalty and put his arm around me and told me "Its okay, what you did was worth it." the parents in the stands just smiled. He encouraged me to keep playing even when I wasn't doing well. I will truly miss him and my deepest sympathy to his family and Nikki.

My deepest condolences to your whole family. I had the privilege of playing hockey with Dan for two years. He was a skilled athlete, great teammate and went out of his way to ensure the newer skates were given play time. His kindness and great attitude extended both on and off the ice. I will miss Dan.

Nicky and the Elderkin family,

Though it has been some time since last we saw Dan and Nicky, you will always be part of the memories we shared week in and out for those years. Even though I have not seen Dan since 2001, I would like to pay my respects to those who remained close to him. Dan was in a few of my classes back in highschool and highly respected by my old highschool sweetheart. I would just like to say how sorry I am to hear of his passing. Please give my regaurds to his wife and family, and keep in mind that he will live in the hearts of those he has touched in every small way. I know he will always be in mine.
