Janet Peters Obituary

Janet W. Peters passed away from COVID-19 on December 10, 2020. She was 92. She died twelve days after the death of her beloved husband, Charles M. ("Chuck") Peters. The two started dating when they were both sixteen and never stopped. They were married for over seventy years. Although Janet claimed to be shy as a youth, in adulthood she was known for her warmth and openness. Like her husband, she regularly picked up conversation with complete strangers. Anyone sitting at a table near her in a restaurant or standing in a check-out line was fair game. Full of energy, she exercised for over two hours every morning.

As the fate of her illness became apparent, Janet asked to enter hospice so she could be with Chuck. Janet worked as a teacher, but her real devotion was family and dear friends. She died knowing she was loved. She is survived by her three sons, Jeff (David Young), Bob (Beth Stein) and Chip (Cindy Wilson), and five grandchildren, Michael, Sarah, Lindsay, Dylan and Ashley.

Funeral Services have been postponed until a memorial service can be held post-COVID so family and friends can meet in person to celebrate her life, Chuck's life and the lives of other close family members lost over the past months. Charitable contributions can be made to any of the following:
