John Batura Obituary
John Batura, age 99, passed away on December 28, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Albina Filinovich and the late Kathleen Nora Fernandez Carroll. Loving father of Nancy (David) Lindquist, Elena Batura and John W. Batura. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Veteran of World War II, lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Des Plaines Post # 6863. Employed by Visking Corporation and Union Carbide for over 40 years. Loved his family and enjoyed bingo, bowling, gardening and golf. Active participant in various Orthodox Church choirs in Summit, IL and Washington DC. Visitation on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 from 3-9 PM at FORAN FUNERAL HOME 7300 W. Archer Ave (55th St. just west of Harlem). Panachyda Service at 7.30 PM. Visitation on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2014 from 9 AM until time of service at 10 AM at Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 8410 W. 131' St., Palos Park, IL. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, IL.
