Dear Nora,
My wife Marilyn and I served for many years with your Dad on the Library Advisory Council at Notre Dame. During that time, he and your Mom were among our closest friends in the Notre Dame community, and after that we socialized with your Dad after Mary became ill. We are saddened to learn of his passing in September. He was a fine man whose company was among life's great pleasures.

John started @ Notre Dame 60 years ago this past September, & became a member of the Class of "67. He & I became well acquainted when we spent our sophomore year 1964-1965 in Innsbruck, Austria as 2 of the 52 members of Notre Dame's first Foreign Study Program. In more recent years, John will always be remembered as the host of his tailgate party during Notre Dame home games in South Bend. He was a great guy & will be sorely missed by his ND schoolmates.
