To the Nolan Family,
My deepest condolences.
I never had the pleasure to work for John, but my Dad did, and he always would say what a great guy and Policeman he was. I only had the chance to meet him a couple of times, but I have to agree with my Dad.
May God Bless you and John and hold you in the palm of His hand.

Nolan Family, You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. I have many fond memories of the excursions our families took together back in the 70's when our parents were hanging around together. I am not sure who caused more trouble-the parents or the teenagers! God Bless, Sue Morgan Reynolds

Really sorry to hear of your loss. I remember as teenagers in the 70's how relieved we were that "Mike's Dad" was a cop. That came in handy when someone
in our group siphoned gas. Considering we were "pretty good kids" we got a slap on the wrist and scolded enough to scare us. He had earned our respect at a young age. A great role model for us and someone we knew we could "go to".

John, I don't think we will be having any CHILI BEAN SOUP at David's Resturant on Monday nights any more. I know that the Muskie Fishing will be all keepers when you get to where your going. Have a great time in PARADISE: YOU EARNED IT.

Ok cap. It's your turn now. You will be missed. One of the old time
police, fair & compassionate. I don't think they they exist anymore.
You were the right boss at the right time

To the Nolan Family,
My son Ian just told me the news of your fathers' passing. Instantly I was brought back to your house on 107th & Wood. So many memories of you all & your dad. I think, as teenagers, we made him crazy! He was a good man and I'm sorry for your loss.

To the family of John Nolan:

I am so sorry for your great loss. John was the epitome of a great boss. His door was always open for anyone with problems or just to talk. He bailed me out of the 3d District and brought me to 009 where I remained for the next 24 or so years. I will never forget him. We shared the same mechanic (Steve). We will all miss him.

To the family of John Nolan: It was my privilege and honor to work with, and for John. If asked for a description of the word loyalty, I would simply say "John Nolan". In addition to working with John in the VCD we shared many social times together along with Dick Shinners and Bob Glynn.I don't know anyone who didn't like or respect John. Over the last 10 years we didn't see much of each other but, my thoughts of how he was doing was a constant in my life. In my abbreviated police career John Nolan was at the top of those who made a difference in my life. I can't thank him enough for the impact he made. It is with a sense of loss that I offer my condolences to his family. RIP John. Former CPD Sgt. Tom Ward
