Kevin Tighe

Kevin John Tighe of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully on August 14, 2017 at the age of 48 from complications related to ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). He will be deeply missed by his wife Jayme of 22 years and his daughters Cara Ellen (19) and Kate Lauren (15). He is survived by his father and stepmother, Austin and Suzanne Tighe, Mother-In-Law, Rebecca Ellen Sellers, sister and brother-in law, Brent and Maureen Silverman, brother, Austin Tighe, Jr., as well as many cherished nieces and nephews. Kevin's mother, Jeanette Hanly Tighe, his nephew, Brendan Austin Silverman, and his father-in-law, James Sellers, preceded him in death. Kevin was an amazing husband and father, and truly took advantage of living in the city with his family. There was never a weekend where the Tighe family wasn't out exploring the many things the city had to offer. Kevin put his friends and family above all else, and no one was better at maintaining friendships and reaching out to people. His many friends from Summit, New Jersey, Lisle, Illinois, Austin, Texas, and most recently Sauganash and the Queen of All Saints community filled his life with lasting memories. Kevin was never far away from his friends and a beer or two. Kevin learned to love the sport of lacrosse during his time in Summit, NJ. He continued to play throughout college, and kept his love of the sport present by becoming a coach. The many lives he impacted through his years as the Queen of All Saints Boys Lacrosse Coach will never be forgotten. Visitation Friday August 18 from 3-8 PM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home 6150 N. Cicero Ave. Chicago. A Mass of Celebration of Life will be held at Queen of All Saints Basilica Saturday at 10 AM. Interment private.
