Norman J. Graff, age 89, WWII vet, of Deerfield, beloved and devoted husband of 67 years to Minnie, nee Goodman; loving father of Martin (Karyn), Jeffrey (Judy) and Susan (Joel) Hochberger; most amazing grandfather to Renee (Zack) Klein, Sandy, Jonathan (Stacey), Josh and Brandy Graff and Jodi and Blake Hochberger; loving great-grandfather of Cortney and Carter Klein; also survived by many loving nieces; nephews; and friends; preceded by dear parents Sol and Ida Graff; and five brothers. Funeral Service Wednesday, 1:30 p.m. at the Weinstein Funeral Home North Shore Chapel, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette. Interment Westlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial to the Midwest Palliative & Hospice Care Center, 200 Claire Ct., Glenview, IL 60025, appreciated. For further info., 847-256-5700. I had the privilege of meeting Norman when he took my father, Julius Schlan, "under his wing" at Gidwitz. My dad had dinner each night with both Norm and Minnie. Norm was always joking and eating lots of lemons. I would tell him that he had to eat those lemons because he was so sweet.
My condolences to the family. He will be missed.

NORMAN, MANNY, MINNIE AND I WERE GOOD FRIENDS TOGETHER AT GIDWITZ. HE WAS SO SAD WHEN MANNY DIED AND I FELT HIS LOVE FOR ALL OF MY FAMILY EVERY DAY. HE AND MINNIE WERE A GREAT HELP TO ME AFTER. MINNIE, MY HEART IS WITH YOU, ALWAYS..LOVE, TYBIE

Norman was a wonderful man. He became friends with my father, Manny Diamond, who passed away two years ago. My Dad enjoyed his company so much and Norm was always so friendly to our whole family
whenever we would visit my Mom, Tybie. I will miss his smiling face whenever I visit at Gidwitz. Cheryl Roberts and family, Highland Park, IL.
