Wayne Barker

Wayne Thomas Barker, 83, passed away on February 25, 2014 while vacationing in Mexico. He was an adoring and devoted spouse to Susan for 34 years. He was a proud and attentive father to Mary Clare [John] Staggs, Thomas, Stephen [Luz], Fr. Brian, Sharon [Kevin] Rutherford, Brian, and Julie [Kevin] Averill. He will always be a doting and fun "Poppa" to Allison, Mary Beth, Sean, Renee, Megan, Kyle, Kevin, Kara and Katie. Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, achieved a degree in chemical engineering from IIT, and presided over successful businesses. Travel and foreign language fulfilled his cultural enthusiasm, while reading, music, and art delighted his sense of the extraordinary. He shared, and often instilled these passions with those close to him. An accomplished man cannot be defined by things hung on a wall... A memorial service will take place May 10, 2014 at 10:30 am at St. Jude the Apostle Church in South Holland, IL.
