James Thompson Obituary

JAMES THOMPSON James Allen Thompson (Jim) passed away June 13th, 2018 peacefully at home, surrounded by loving family after a battle with Progressive Supernuclear Palsey 'PSP'. Jim was 69 years young, having been born on December 18th 1948 in Medford, Oregon to Harold and Bonnie Thompson. On December 28th, 1968 Jim married the love of his life, Linda Schmidt in Chico, California. Throughout his life Jim worked hard to support his family. Jim worked in lumber mills, opened R&J Radiator, owned and operated his own big rig and delivered news-papers, always making sure there was food on the table and a roof over their head. Jim distinguished himself serving as the President of the Sons of Norway, and was a proud member of the Eagles. Jim's hobbies included fishing, bowling, racecar driving, and spending time with his family. Jim also had a deep and abiding faith in God, and in Jesus Christ as his Savior. As Jim journies on ahead of his family he is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Thompson, by his two daughters Michelle Parker of Chico and Nicole Howells of Washington, his two grandsons Ron Parker of Magalia Ca., and Justin Parker of Chico and his ten great grandkids and step grandkids. A memorial service will be held at the Eagles Hall, located on the corner of Mulberry and 20th St. in Chico Sunday, June 24th at 2:00 pm.

You always made me laugh with your twisted wit and humor! Thank you for being an awesome brother-in-law and especially for the Bible you gave me that year for Christmas. Because you gave it to me, I read it cover to cover - and it changed me. Go in peace. Until we meet again.......
