Maxim Therou Obituary

Maxim J. Therou, 63, of 829 Bluff View Circle W. Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at his residence with St. Joseph's Hospice.

He was born Feb. 23, 1944, in Milwaukee, the son of Euclid "Frenchy" Joseph and Grace Elizabeth (Howie) Therou.

Maxim attended Notre Dame Grade School and McDonell High School and graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High School. He attended UW-Stout and graduated with a degree in Industrial Technology. He earned a Masters Degree in both industrial safety and vocational rehabilitation.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1966.

He was married to Mary Blake from May 1971 to 1984. Max married Maureen Hartsough on May 18, 1990.

Maxim worked for NSP/Excel Energy in the Marketing and Safety Department.

He was a member of St. Charles Church where he was an usher and he served on the city council as an alderman for the 6th ward.

He loved his family and enjoyed golfing. Max was a man of integrity who had a strong work ethic.

Max is survived by: his wife, Maureen; three daughters, Amy (Neil) Jarosz, Katie Therou and Renee (Lucas) Martell all of Chippewa Falls; three step-daughters, Kathleen (Paul) Gaier of Appleton, Jennifer (Jon) Theisen of Chippewa Falls and Brianna (Kevin) Craig of Haslett, Mich.; and one step-son, Douglas of Madison; one step-brother, Gary (Cheryl) Collum of Sycamore, Ill.; one step-sister, Sandy Turany of Eau Claire; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and his step- mother, Bernyce Therou.

Funeral services are pending.
