Robert J. Haverly, 87, of 3 South Herschel St., Chippewa Falls, died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
He was born March 31, 1926, in Bloomer, the son of Arthur and Josephine (Davis) Haverly.
On Oct. 29, 1946, he married Frances "Fran" Dupey at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy.
He worked for Ripon Foods and the Chippewa County Highway Department for many years until retiring. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and enjoyed playing cards. He was a member of Holy Ghost Church and the Knights of Columbus Goldsmith Council #974.
Bob is survived by: his special friend, Arlene Dresel of Chippewa Falls; three sons, Thomas (Carmen) Haverly of San Antonio, Texas, Paul (Tim Lane) Haverly of Rogersville, Tenn. and Roger (Bill Johnson) Haverly of Boynton Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Teresa (Randy) Walters of Manitowoc; two daughters-in-law, Jeannie Haverly of Chippewa Falls and Jeanne Haverly of Weston; one brother, Elmer Haverly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one sister, Rose (Bud) Lankey of Bloomer; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Frances "Fran" Haverly on March 21, 2004; two sons, Daniel and Peter; his parents; one sister, Leona Koehler; and one great grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 24 at Holy Ghost Church in Chippewa Falls. Interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery in the village of Lake Hallie. Military rites will be conducted by the Chippewa Falls Patriotic Council.
