DAVID HALL Obituary

DAVID A. HALL David A. Hall, 70, of Penn Yan passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, after a lengthy struggle following a traumatic brain injury. David was born in Penn Yan on May 18, 1953, the son of the late F. Rupert and Lois (nee Newman) Hall. After the family moved to Ithaca, David became interested in Boy Scouts and was an active member of Troop 45. He participated in gymnastics and football while in high school and was a graduate of Ithaca High School class of 1971. Following high school, David attended his father's alma mater, SUNY Morrisville. Dave enjoyed music (and movies), and he especially enjoyed any opportunity to travel. David was a foodie. He loved to cook, barbeque, and did a lot of canning as he neared retirement. David retired from a long career with NYSEG. He was a practical joker, enjoyed family time, and will also be remembered by many for his bike rides to and from Romulus to Geneva. Dave is survived by two children, Megan and Bryan Hall; sisters, Joyce Andrew-Turner and Sheila Hall; nephews, Christopher Andrews and M. Scott (Amy) Andrews; great-nieces, Willow and Skye Andrews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service was held on Wednesday September 27, 2023, at East Lawn Cemetery in Ithaca.
