Connie Jo Oyler, age 72, of Marion, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on May 27, 1953, in Portland, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Patricia Howell. Connie was a proud graduate of Madison-Grant High School, Class of 1971.
Connie served as an Educational Assistant at Marion Community Schools, where she greatly enjoyed working with children. Additionally, her jovial spirit shone through during her time at Horner's Butcher Block, where she relished her role at the cash register and cherished the interactions with her customers-a testament to her love for people.
A talented and creative individual, Connie was a member of the Sweet Adelines Chorus, showcasing her love for music. In her personal life, she enjoyed various crafts, including sewing, crocheting, baking, and cake decorating. She also found joy in camping and acting on stage in Civic Theater plays. Connie was known for her quick wit and a strong sense of humor, honesty, and boldness.
Connie is survived by her devoted husband, Gary Oyler; her children, Amy Pickett (Kevin), Aaron Oyler (Denise), and Sarah Holt (Todd); her grandchildren, Austin Lanham, Adam Lanham, Lyndsey (Isaiah) Fuller, Seth Southworth, and Spencer Southworth; and her loving sisters, Belinda Myers and Karen Corder.
Arrangements for Connie have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953, where a visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Steve Armes officiating. Entombment will take place at Gardens of Memory, Marion, Indiana.
