Dear Andrew .... You have been gone over nine months now and my heart still burns each time I remember that call received on July 20, 2011. Yes, I knew you could leave us before your time, yet when it came I was crushed. A father doesn't expect to outlive his son, and your loss from the family was so difficult to understand. I live each day, with the memories of our years together, enjoying, again, all those happy times with you, Ben, and Tiffany doing what a dad and his kids enjoy. You had that beautiful smile and such a treasured laugh, and most of all those twinkling eyes. I thank God for you! He gave Andrew to us in Nashville and you were my country kid. The blessings received from you each day of your life were so rich and loving. Yes, things changed dramatically as those dark days came. Yet,you continued to love us all unconditionally. There is no doubt in my mind and heart that the day will come when we will again be together and experience a life so rich and beautiful. Once again we will take a walk in the woods high up above our earthly haunts of old, next to a running creek enjoying the companionship of Ben and Tiff and enjoying the wonders prepared for us in Heaven. God loves all of us and understands what you faced here on earth and how much pain you were enduring. You are pain free, your body is whole, and you are once again smiling with many new friends.

Till we meet again I send all my love and a warm, fatherly hug.

Dad

I had a chance to drive through Bethany while briefly in town over the holidays. I hopped out and remembered the time I chased andrew from the gym to the office. Headlocks and punches the whole way. We were friends by the end of that day. Gone too soon friend.

Andrew D. Missing you. Love you completely. You were special to so many. A part of me is gone; I want it back. Cole & Cole are saying a special prayer for you nightly. You had a unique bond with the boys. Always playing with them and giving them a special smile and giant hug every time you saw them. Not to mention how you connected with them on their level making playtime so grand. We are all sad and are trying to figure out how life will go on without you. Caden doesn't want to light a candle for you but rather wants to blow it out for you. I know this would have made you laugh. Imagining that now. Sending infinite amounts of love! Your sis, Tiff

Elaine,Paul and Family,
Douglas and I were just chatting when he received word of Andrew's passing. I can't imagine a greater loss. I am so very sorry. Thank GOD for his infinite wisdom. I believe he knew there would be no greater blessing than the gift of our children. No love more precious, than that between a parent and their child. I pray you find peace and comfort in your memories. Love is everlasting!
God Bless You and Keep You.

Andrew was a great friend--so many memories. He was such an influence on our lives, as kids--he had a tremendous impact on my formative years. Many of us would not have become the people we are today without him
I can remember his influence on my life began way back when we were just 6 years old: he was actually the reason my nickname at Bethany became the letter “S” for all those years. . . When I arrived in 1st grade, he was already the resident “Andrew,” so at the time it just seemed logical to shorten my name to the first letter of my last name: “S” . . . and I loved that nickname! There was something so cool about that to me. . .
Looking back, I think, that‘s really how Andrew was: he was always showing us the new definition of “cool.” Whatever he did, the rest of us wanted to do. He always seemed to know what the latest "thing" was before anybody else, whether it was freestyle bicycling, skateboarding, or even listening to the latest bands. In fact, the music he introduced to me at the time formed the foundation of the music I strive to make today, 23 years later
I am deeply saddened by this news, and my prayers are with you Ben, Tiffany, Elaine, and Paul

Elaine, I'm just so sorry. Your heart must be broken. To me, Andrew will always be the little blonde, curly haired boy with the big grin, bringing over snakes, or carrying a skate board & building half pipes in the driveway or racetracks in the yard.
He was such a big part of our lives for so many years.
Please know that I am sending you a big hug. We are not supposed to lose our children.
