My very deepest and profound sympathies to Dan's family. I know he surely loved you, Susy.

From the first day, I met him I knew we would be great friends. You couldn't find a nicer or kinder human being and he was like that to everyone. He was the best of the best. I'm so very thankful & blessed to have known Dan and to have shared a small part of my life with him.

I have said goodbye to so many people in my life so far but, Dan was so very special to me. I will forever miss his smile, kindness, and his love!

My only consolation in saying goodbye to him is that as a Christian I know he's in Heaven.
God Bless his family and friends. Love you Schmoe...

It was days ago I learned of my good friend Dan's passing which I am very saddened by. He was such a good person and I truly appreciate what he did for me whenver I brought my cars to him. My very favorite memory of Dan would be when he moved my car from one build to the next and he really loved the CD that I had playing in the car.

He will be very missed by myself, my family members and many, many others

The Sadness I feel can not be measured , the measure of your friendship can never be forgotten. Being your bartender at the Bowling Alley was not a job , it was a pleasure . You took care of me & my wife's cars as if they were your own .
We go thru life hoping for a friend like you , and for all who knew you ;
" It is time to Count our blessings " .
Your friend & Admirer , Ron Williams

I wish I had the right words!!! I am shocked to have heard the news. I always knew i had a great guy with many talents to take care of my cars for he had taken care of our family's cars for many many years. If anyone needed their car repaired Danny was the man. He was the kind of guy you could see and carry on a conversation like you were just together the day before. You are and will always be the best of your trade. Fly High Angel for God must of needed you more than we. From High School when I meet you till the next time, I will see you again my Friend.
Please accept my Sincerer Condolences for your loss...

When I was pastor at St. Al's in Bridgetown, I got to know Schmoe and his crew. "Schmoe's Autobody" was right across the street from the rectory. Occasionally I would enjoy an end-of-the-week beer with the guys on a Friday afternoon. I will always be grateful for the time that Schmoe and his workers came to the rescue of my parish at the conclusion of a church renovation project. New organ pipes arrived at the last minute, just one day before the dedication. When we pried opened the crates, the pipes--about twenty in number--were galvanized tin when we had ordered a gold finish!! These pipes were "the crown jewel" of the renovation project but now, instead of gleaming gold, they looked like regular plumbing pipes. Schmoe learned of my dilemma. Without batting an eye, he canceled his scheduled work, cleared out the bays, then and he and his guys spend the entire night carrying pipes from the church to the shop, painting them, then carrying them back. Long story short, he saved the day! I am real sorry to hear of his passing. He is in my prayers, along with his family and many friends. He was a good man. A heck of a good man! I am proud to have known him. Fr. Jim Schmitmeyer

Dan was a true inspiration to all that hard work, caring about people and treating people well could go a long way.It truly is a shame that again we see someone like Dan who had everything in the world to live for be taken so early in life !Even though I left working for him some years ago he always treated me good when I would see him on occasion,always kind and respectful.I called him recently and he said that once this all cleared up that I should bring my wife Tracy and come to the lake and go fishing.I accepted the offer hoping and praying that he would beat back this dreaded disease.Being a cancer surviver myself I always held out hope !Well my friend I guess our fishing trip will have to wait but my heart will always be thinking about the day we will be able to .Tracy and I will never forget you and you will forever be in our hearts.All the love man .A big shout out to the greatest Schmoe on earth!God speedand may gods love be with your family through this trying time . Truly ,Gary and Tracy Nutty!!!!

Dan's passing is such a tragedy and leaves me in shock and extreme sadness. I was a bowling friend and a customer of Dan's but I am a man who respected him and always made it a point to share conversation and a story or two. Dan was a generous man who always had it together, knew what life was all about and always made you feel good in his company. I will miss him.
