Jim was a great neighbor to my parents for over 50 years. Whenever my dad needed help working on one of the cars, Jim would gladly come down and "take a look", which often turned into him rolling up his sleeves and helping out. He always had a smile and great belly laugh. He is a wonderful loving father to his kids (now adults) Dan, Sharon, Cathy and Mike. Jim loved fishing and you could always count on seeing him cleaning fish on a Saturday evening for a good dinnner. Jim- you will be missed. Barb and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you family. Though at a distance my heart is with you guys.
The following says it all about Jim (Mr. Hoffmeister to us). This was written on Facebook by my brother Craig..... Thanks for being the greatest friend and neighbor to my parents, and myself growing up, for close to 50yrs. Thanks for being my dads best fishing buddy for decades. Thank you for always being that extra hand when we needed it. Thanks for being the loaner of tools when we didn't have it. Thank you for you and my dad teaching us kids many things growing up like fixing and building anything. Thank you for teaching us about fishing and shooting and all that goes with it as a hobby and a means to provide. I'm in debt for all the knowledge and friendship you passed on. I will miss pulling up to my parents and seeing you and my dad cleaning all that fish. I will miss all the conversations we had about anything mechanical, and how to build it if you don't have it. Watching you and my dad over the years could fill volumes on how to do things. Thanks Jim..You will be missed...
