Dick always had a huge smile and cheerful greeting for me whenever I came to Mt. Washington Methodist. He always begged me to return to choir. I met Dick at choir rehearsal in the fifties. He always added a light spirit to rehearsals. When I was an adult and a guest speaker at the church, he smiled the whole time. What a wonderful, fun guy. My love to Cheryl.

It was inspiring to see Dick trying his best to keep up with the younger contra dancers. He was one of the oldest dancers in the group and he loved the people and the music. I enjoyed dancing with him and hope I have his energy at his age! I could always count on him to bring fruit punch to the Sat. night dances. I will miss him.

Sorry to hear of Dick's passing. He will be hard put to replace at our bridge table on Tuesdays at the Rec Center, always full of fun and as he always said, "WOW I have 5 aces!" R.I.P. Richard.

What a special person. Full of life and energy to the end. I could never thank him enough for introducing me to ContraDance. I'm so glad we were able to celebrate his 84th birthday at the Monday night dance, not even a month ago. He will be missed.

The news of Dick's passing was very distressing as we were with him both
on Saturday at the Red Lobster and Sunday at IHOP. It hasn't quite set
in and since there was nothing to lead you to expect this, it impacts more. He was our FRIEND! He could be counted on to pick up Nellie's medication from Krogers in a pinch. He watched and loved our cats Trotter and Rufus and they both returned his affection. I recall when we first attended Mt Washington that he included his lost cat in the prayer portion of the service. I thought here is a man who loves
animals! He loved his church and the memory of your mother. He loved
to dance and was so pleased that his family had provided him with a pass for the weight room at CRC. He loved to walk (which is something that Nellie and I do not do enough of.) For his birthday he wanted to have the breakfast bar at Frisch's while the group was taking him to Pelican Reef. So Nellie and I took him to Frisch's that morning so he got to enjoy his breakfast bar. And he was generous by bring fish back from Canada for us.
I don't have a lot of friends but am honored to count Dick as one of them. Nellie and I both deeply miss him and please know that you are in our prayers as is Dick. Just wanted to share these thoughts at this time of sadness.
