Richard Fahrenbruck Obituary

Fahrenbruck

Richard F, 92, beloved husband of the late Barbara A. Fahrenbruck (nee Pyle); son of the late Fred E. and Marie Fahrenbruck; preceded in death by brothers William, Robert, Roy and sister Mary. Beloved father to daughters Dana Ray (M. Shelly Leitman), Anne "Bryd-o" (David Antonello), and Beth. Dick willingly served his country in WWII as a member of the U.S. Merchant Marines which fueled a lifelong passion for sailing. His other passions were listening to opera and the symphony, watching ballet, and woodworking. He proudly displayed his model ships crafted from blueprints. Dick enthusiastically shared stories of his travels around the world, teaching Aussies how to make banana splits, marveling at the intricate woodworking of Pakistani artists, sharing European experiences with Barbie and his siblings. Dick was very proud of his career as a chemical engineer with many companies, most notably Exxon & that it allowed him numerous trips throughout the world; meeting fellow engineers from different ethnicities. The family extends a very special thank you to Beverly whose patience, care, compassion, and love for Dick's well-being eased the effects of Alzheimer's over the last six years of his life. We also thank the exceptional staff at Arden Courts of Anderson and Heartland Hospice for going above and beyond the call of duty to make Dick's life as comfortable as possible.
