Samuel Foster Obituary
Asheville - Samuel Lee Foster, 83, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017. He was a native of Asheville and a son of the late Jimmy and Loner Kelly Foster. Samuel attended the Asheville city schools.
Samuel was currently employed as a painter with Ohio Electric and had 30 years of service with the manufacturing company. He enjoyed fishing and traveling.
Samuel was preceded in death by a son, Douglas; brothers, Hezikiah and Marvin; sister, Arabelle Peterson; mother of his children, Mammie Mae Davis Foster.
Surviving family to cherish his memory include his wife, Lois Young Foster; sons, Brian Foster (Maria), Bruce Foster (Patricia) and Phillip Foster; daughter, Linda Wilkerson (James); sister, Evelyn Murphy; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Wednesday, chapel of Ray Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. Inez D. Ray officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Burial will be in Violet Hill Cemetery.

I worked with Sam at Ohio Electric Motors. He was a rare, gentle man. Always asking "Are you happy?" He shared his happiness with all who knew him. A special person whom I will never forget. God Bless.

Sam was truly a great man and friend. I will miss him. Sam and Bruce were a great pick-me-up when I worked with them at Ohio Electric motor's.
