James F. "Jimmy" Gelsleichter, 64, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at home. He was born in Wilkes-Barre to the late James P. and Patricia Connell Gelsleichter. James graduated from Bishop Hoban High School, Wilkes-Barre. After graduation he served in the United States Air Force. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the PA Liquor Control Board.
He is survived by brother, Michael Gelsleichter and his wife Kathleen, Florida; sisters, Margaret Wilde and her husband, William, Wilkes-Barre Twp.; and Mary Gelsleichter, Wilkes-Barre; nieces and nephews, Katelyn Virga, Fallon Gelsleichter, Maggie Cibello, Coleen Shaffer, Victoria Wilde, Kristen Wilde, Chloe Wilde, Sean Kyle Reilly, Kayla Reilly, Liam Reilly, Killian Reilly, Tessa Reilly; and great- nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday from Nat Gawlas Jordan Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave. Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. in St. Andrew Parish, 316 Parish St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Twp.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

First, Christmas and New Year's without you, brother. You were/are sorely missed. There's not a day goes by that we don't think about you - I suspect that will be the case for quite a few months and years more. Tell mom and dad we said hello, let them know I miss them too. Love you, Jimmy.
