Rita and family,
Ron "Bubba" and I thought a lot of Doug. He was always a happy man and always had a great idea about something..He was a wonderful man and we will truly miss him. Take care and we will come and see you soon Rita. He took good care of you here and now is going to take care of you from above. You will always be together in your hearts. Love ya!

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. In the short time I got to know your family I saw how special you are to eachother, and how your family is so close. The road ahead will be hard and different but always remember to turn to eachother during the hard times and look back at all the good times. So sorry I was unable to attend the service.

We just learned of your loss and wish that there were words to be said that could ease the pain and suffering you must be feeling now. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Just know, that in Doug, you now have a Guardian Angel looking out after you.
One of the many things that Sharon and I always liked about Doug was how crazy in love with you he was, a love that transcends all.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Rita and Family, so sorry to hear about Doug. We have fond memories of our times together in Rossville. Joyce and I will out of state on Monday so we will miss the service, but we will be thinking about you.

So sorry to hear of Doug's passing. I saw him at Leroy Miller's funeral about a year ago. Fond memories of him when we were in school in Wamego. Very sorry for your loss.

Jen and family - I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your wonderful father. He was such a fun loving and amazing man. I will never forget all the great memories I have of spending time with your family and going to the pharmacy with you to see Doug. He always kept us laughing! I hope you find comfort in all of the wonderful family memories you have, which he loved being a part of.

Dear Rita and family,
We were so shocked and sad to hear of Doug's death. Please know that we are thinking of all of you during this difficult time. Doug wil be sorely missed from Lake Wabaunsee but he will be kept close by many fond memories. He was a great guy!

Rita, Jen & Jason- We're so sorry to hear about Doug. All those years thru youth sports with Jen and Jason will never be forgotten. Doug was such a great Dad and Husband. Rita and the kids always came first. We only knew him thru sports but I can only imagine he was the same with the people in Rossville. We will miss him and our thoughts and prayers are with all in his family. Denny & Lois and the girls.
