ELI ENGEBRETSON Obituary
Hillcrest Memorial Center
Eli Spencer Engebretson, 22, died on July 1, 2014 in Richland, WA. He was born on June 2, 1992 in Missoula, Montana to parents Melissa Cowgill Engebretson and Mark Engebretson. He has lived in the Tri-Cities for 21 years.
Eli was continuing his education at CBC and had just advanced to the next quarter at the top of his class. He began skateboarding as a young boy. His favorite tricks were his heel flips and his backside crooked grinds. Despite numerous injuries, and "No Skateboarding" signs, Eli could not be deterred from his love of skateboarding. He loved to play the guitar and was a gifted musician. Eli spent many hours writing and playing music with his best friends and bandmates Andrew McVay, Nate Johnson, Emery Alpizar, Steven McIntyre, and Andre Sanchez.
Eli is survived by his mom, Melissa Cowgill Engebretson; dad, Mark Engebretson; sister Lacey Cowgill and brother Kevin Phillips. He is also survived by loving grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins from the Cowgill, Engebretson, Morgan, and Grothe families. Eli leaves behind many friends. He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Eli was preceded in death by his loving grandmother Olive, and close family friend, Poul Grothe. Rest in peace, Buddy.
A Service will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 11:30 am at Hillcrest Memorial Center, 9353 West Clearwater Avenue, Kennewick. Interment will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.

My heart broke when I heard about Eli, for I too lost a son. Danny passed away February of 2013 in Portland...he was only 19 years old. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him! I believe that Danny and Eli are hangin' together up in the clouds with our GREAT MAJESTY... ELI WAS A GREAT KID !!! My email address is msharrington [email protected]

ELI I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH AND MISS YOU.. THE TIME WE HAD WAS SHORT AND NOT LONG ENOUGH BUT YOUR WITH GRANDMA AND MY BABY. PLEASE TEACH HIM HOW TO SKATEBOARD AND FISH AND ALL THE THINGS YOU LOVED TO DO.. PLEASE WATCH OVER HIM AND GRANDMA UNTIL WE ALL ARE REUNITED AGAIN.
