Carley Hardy Obituary

Carley James Hardy, Sr., 85, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006 at Central Hills R.V, Park in Attala County after a happy life with wife, Pauline;3 children; and 7 grandchildren. Services are 3 p.m. today at Mc-Clain-Hays Chapel in Philadelphia with burial in Eastlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia. Rev. Jerry Bishop, Rev. Charles Barnett and Rev. Mack Alford will officiate. The Deacons of Beacon St. Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.

He was born and reared In Neshoba County, Bethsaida Community and had made his home in Philadelphia since 1952. Carley was a long time member of Beacon St. Baptist Church, a life time member of VFW, a member of American Legion, and a WWII Veteran U..S. Navy. He was a past district governor of the Lion's Club and a member of the Mockingbird Sams Camping Club where he enjoyed camping in his motorhome with their camping friends. He also enjoyed going to the Neshoba County Fair where he had a cabin since 1953 the 63rd cabin to be built at the fair. Carley was the founder of Hardy Tire in 1952, the second oldest business west of the railroad tracks in Philadelphia, and he retired in 1986.

His survivors include: his wife, Pauline Goldman Hardy of Philadelphia; his sons, Carley James (Jim) Hardy, Jr. and wife Mae of Madison and Bobby Glynn Hardy and wife Kim of Philadelphia; daughter, Angela Renay Robinson and husband Sonny of Brandon; grandchildren, Linda Hardy, Lee Hardy, Carmen Hardy, Deanna Hardy, Carley Ann Robinson, Katie Robinson and Beau Robinson; step-granddaughter, Leigh McDaniel and one step-great-grandson, Mason Payne.
