Harold Marler, 78, a resident of Clinton passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Andalusia Regional Hospital, Andalusia, AL. Visitation will be held at Wildwood Baptist Church on Springridge Rd. in Clinton, MS on Monday, July 16, 2012 from 12:30 until 1:50 pm and funeral services will be at 2:00 pm at the church. There will be a 4:30 pm graveside service at Clifton Baptist Cemetery in Forest, MS. Officiating will be Bro. Billy Henry, Rev. Tommy Jones, and Dr. Bobby Dungan. Wolf Funeral Services in Morton will be in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Marler had lived in Clinton for the past 39 years, moving from Jackson, MS and he was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church of Clinton, MS, where he was a member of the Senior Adult Men's Sunday School Class. He was an avid domino player who gained his reputation as a 12 time world champion. He enjoyed reading and being with his family and working crossword puzzles. He was an avid MSU Bulldog Fan. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Barbara Bailey Marler of Clinton, MS; one daughter, Gwen Marler of Tulsa, OK; one son, Dwayne Marler of Tulsa, OK; sister-in-law, Cathy Johnson of Forest, MS; brother-in-law, Richard Bailey of Vicksburg, MS; two grandchildren, Jason Patterson of Tulsa, OK; Randy McCarty of Oklahoma City, OK; two great-grandchildren, Kerstyn McCarty and Hunter McCarty; a number of special nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Gideons International.

I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Marler. He was always so pleasant when he was in the office. He was a hoot, actually. No matter how bad he felt he always seemed to be happy with yoy at his side. I will surely miss him and I know you will too.

We lived across the street from the Marlers for 10 years, and couldn't have asked for better neighbors. Harold was a wonderful, caring man who never failed to speak when he saw us. He was always a joy to talk to, and he will be sorely missed. Our condolences to Barbara and the family. Please don't hesitate to call if you need anything at all.
