Kay Parker Obituary
Madison
Evelyn Kay (Roberts) Parker passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi from complications of Crohn's Disease. Kay fought this battle so courageously for many years. The funeral service for Mrs. Parker will be at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Madison, Mississippi on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 1:00pm with visitation starting at 11:00am. She will be buried at Parkway Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Mississippi.
Kay was born September 2, 1952. She will forever be remembered by the love of her life and husband, Mickey Parker of Madison, Mississippi. They were childhood sweethearts and best friends and were married for 42 years. Kay leaves two beautiful daughters who she was so proud of, Mandy (Irvin) Ellard, Madison and Kristen (David) Russell, Madison, Mississippi and two granddaughters who were just so very special to Kay always wanting to be with them and now she will as their special angel. They are Emma Kay Ellard and Anna Grace Ellard of Madison, Mississippi.
Other survivors include two brothers, Edward (Barbara) Roberts of New Jersey and Duane Roberts of Jackson, Mississippi. Her mother-in-law, Katherine Parker was described by Kay as the best mother-in-law anyone could ever have. Kay also leaves behind many brothers and sisters-in-law along with cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kay's family want to thank Mickey and Kay's long time and faithful friends Donna and Bill Singletary and Paul and Linda West who have been by Mickey's side through this long battle that Kay fought. They are very appreciative of Kay's doctors and nurses of the ICU Department at Baptist Hospital.
Kay will always be remembered for her strength and love of life along with her soft spoken spirit and gentleness. She will forever be missed.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital, 2500 North State St. Jackson, MS 39216.

Mick, Mandy, & Kristen...
It hardly seems like almost a year, but I know you all have felt her loss everyday. I was talking to some friends @ the coast this weekend and I showed them the picture of Kay with the big Christmas bow on her head. Not two minutes later I received the notice that this Guest Book was due to go offline next month. THE QUEEN'S CLASSYMATES are doing all our Fund Raising this year in Memory and Honor of Kay for the new Ped's Heart floors @ Blair E. Batson this year. She was, and continues to be in my mind one of the gentlest, yet strongest ladies I have ever known & loved. Praying that God continues to use Kay's sweet memory in the years to come. You and those precious little girls, Emma and Anna, have been and will continue to be in my prayers.
Mickey, you are the perfect example of what our Lord calls us to do when He commands "in sickness and in health". You were always there for Kay and she knew how much you loved her. That is the most precious thing you can do for another person and I pray that you can find peace in knowing that you did that for her.

Kay was much loved and had such a loving spirit with that beautiful smile. She was also one of the strongest people I have ever know to have fought like she has...I know it was because of her love for each of you and your love for her. Our 1st Wed Lunch Group and THE QUEEN'S CLASSYMATES will forever remember these last couple of years and hope that she felt the prayers and love we all sent her way.
