"Frosty" that was my nickname for him. How I enjoyed nick naming all the New Stage campers through the years. And I will never be able to think of New Stage Summer Camp and not think of Michael. Talent beyond his years and a heart bigger than life. You are missed Frosty.

Ann, I cannot BEGIN to tell you how truly sorry I am about Sweet Michael. When I saw him last week, I had a precious granddaughter with me. I began to tell her how very talented Micael is, and she was smiling. He got down on her level and told her that I had been his teacher. He talked so kindly to her. That was Michael! I told him I would text him soon and he could tell me about his adventures. He had to go on in to his work, so I hugged him and told him that he was special. He smiled and sort of laughed. What a wonderful young man! I just wanted you to know that I must have been one of the last people to speak to him, and he was delightful as always. I guess we all just need to hang onto the beautiful memories of a totally kind and loving young man. I would love to talk to you sometime. I'm praying for your peace.

When Michael walked into the audition room for The Music Man, he floored all of us. I so enjoyed working with him over the next three years in Broadway Jr shows and in the Teen Troupe at New Stage. He was an insatiable learner, hungry to get everything he could from an experience and I have long counted him as a large part of what sparked my desire to teach and to work with teenagers. My heart breaks for you, his family and friends and I will always remember Michael's heart, his smile, his energy and his generosity both onstage and in life. - Kate (Roselle) Folkins

Michael was one of those guys that you never forget. The many years together at APAC, Chastain, and Murrah taught me that he was a special, talented, and caring person. I could always call him late at night for homework help and I could always count on him for life advice and laughs.
I think what sticks out most to me now, looking back, is all of the times I came to school upset or down in the dumps. Michael was always there to ask me if I was okay, when others obviously didn't care. He was always there to help me through whatever situation I was in with advice and wisdom beyond his years. He always cared enough to listen when others were in pain and always wanted to leave them with a smile on their face. I regret not staying in touch and thanking you for all the times you were there for me. Rest easy, my friend. <3

I wish I could find the picture of Michael assisting me in the cello section at the Casey Arts Festival. He was FABULOUS!! The cello students loved him and were enamored with him and his playing. He was a great and inspiring player and mentor. Mom, John, and I send our deepest sympathy for your loss. May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Andrew had great fun with Michael during Actor's Playhouse production of "Les Mis". He was a fine young man with so much talent. Both he and Andrew have departed too soon. Tricia and I know there are no words to sooth the pain. May God hold you firmly and let you be sure of His presence.
