Steve Mabry Obituary

Steve M. Mabry, Sr., 85, died Friday, December 1, 2006, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. Visitation is 10 a.m. until the 12 noon service Monday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home in Vicksburg with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Rev. John Harper will officiate.

A native of Yokena, he had lived in Baton Rouge, La., for some 30 years before returning to Vicksburg. Mr. Mabry was a production supervisor for Arigo Chemical Company for 30 years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Corp. during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

Mr. Mabry was preceded in death by his parents, Steven D. and Beulah Child Mabry; a daughter, Catherine Mabry; a brother, James Simrall; and a half brother, Elbie Mabry.

Mr. Mabry is survived by his wife, Marie Williamson Mabry; two sons, Steve Jr. and wife Karen, and John J. and wife Millie; two granddaughters, Jean Marie and Julie Mabry; two step grandchildren, Mary Grayson Tamburello and Trey Sherman Natalie; and step great-grandchildren, Whitney Watson, Jake Tamburello, Olivia Sherman and Grayson Sherman.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Williamson, Josh Williamson, Michael Elrod, Mike Whitehead, Kevin Whitehead and Mike Ables. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Russell Barnes MD and Dr. David M. Halinski MD.

Memorial may be made to Hawkins United Methodist Church, 3736 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180 or Vicksburg Catholic Schools, 900 Grove St., Vicksburg, MS 39180.
