ROBERT J. VANASSE JR. CLINTON - Robert J. Vanasse Jr., 73, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Robert will be deeply missed by his three daughters, Corrie DeLisle, Alicia Vautier and husband Peter, and Kelli Vanasse; four grandchildren, Charllie, Devin, Vivian, and Weston; his former wife, Cindy Vanasse; brother, Gary Vanasse and wife Eleanor; sister, Diane Sousa; nephews, Brian Vanasse and Kevin Vanasse; his granddogs Dino, Smokey, and Coal; extended family, and the town that was his lifelong home. Son of the late Robert J. Vanasse Sr. and Madelyn (Gay) Vanasse, Bob was raised and educated in Clinton and was a graduate of Clinton High School, class of 1969. From his early years working at his family's store, to owning Vanasse's Variety, spending decades at Bates, and working alongside Bob Lowe on the school buses, Bob's life was filled with meaningful connections. He enjoyed talking about the past, his grandkids, history, and his love of guns, collectibles, and old movies. He cherished his time with family, especially his grandchildren, and never missed an opportunity to send a thoughtful card for every holiday. Bob's warm laugh and cheerful personality will be remembered and missed by all. Calling hours will be held from 3 until 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, 2025, in Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 10, 2025, in the funeral home with burial to follow in Hillside Cemetery, Sterling.
