AUTRYVILLE — Mrs. Marion Joyce Faircloth Autry, 84 of 227 Church St., passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at Sampson Regional Medical Center, Clinton.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28, at Autryville Baptist Church, 425 E. Williams St., Autryville, with the Rev. Ronald Long and Chaplain, Major Mark Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the Johnson Cemetery.
Mrs. Autry was born on Jan. 19, 1931 in Sampson County to the late I.H. "Chick" and Lena Belle Fann Faircloth. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lacy Evin Autry; one daughter, Angie Autry; two sons, Cecil Autry and Travis Autry; and one brother, Esco Faircloth.
Mrs. Autry had served as postmaster of Autryville Post Office and worked 30 years as a seamstress and retired from Clinton Apparel. She graduated from Sampson Community College in Cosmetology. She served 30 years with the Sampson County Board of Elections. She was a member of the Roseboro Eastern Star Chapter N. 229 for over 42 years. She was involved in the Micajah Autry Society. She was a lifelong member of Autryville Baptist Church where she served faithfully in many positions.
She is survived by her loving and devoted family: two sons, Bishop Lacy Ellis Autry and wife Frances of Lumberton, Dale Ed Autry and wife Dianne of Stedman; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Autry of Four Oaks; three sisters, Elizabeth "Von" Arechiga of Dunn, Swannie Jones of Clinton, Audrey Walker and husband Jerry of Jerome, Michigan; one brother, Wiley Plato Faircloth of Autryville; five grandsons, Dale, Darrin, Brian, Kevin, Ian; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 27, at Butler Funeral Home, Roseboro and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Autryville Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 26, Autryville, N.C. 28318.

To my friend Dail, it always hurts when you lose a love one, but when you lose your mother, you lose the best friend you will ever have.
I lost mine in 1977 to cancer, my father in 2010 to cancer, one good thing though, death can't take away your memories, god bless your family an memories.
