Ruby Smiley Obituary
Ruby was born on April 6, 1951, to the late Deacon John and Luretha Stevens of Midway. She graduated from Liberty county High School in 1968. She was a longtime member of Sunbury Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Alexander Smiley Sr.; five children, Craig Smiley of Midway, Alexander (Vicky) Smiley Jr. of Clarksville, TN, Andre Smiley, Tonya (Sean) Houston, TX, and Keela Smiley, all of Midway; five brothers, Charlie (Lily) Stevens of Midway, John (Carolyn) Stevens Jr. of Pearland, TX, Stanley Stevens of Houston, Tyrone Stevens of Key West, FL, and Gary Stevens of Midway; three sisters, Mary E. Baltazar, Jacqueline Henderson and Angela Stevens, all of Midway; and one uncle, Atwood Lowe Jr. of Plainfield, NJ.
Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, at Dorchester Funeral Home in Midway.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Sunbury Missionary Baptist Church, 512 Trade Hill Road, Midway.
Interment will be in Sunbury Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Midway, GA
Dorchester Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Dear Ruby, we only knew each other for a short period of time, but our time was very special. You are very special woman and always brought joy to my heart since I met you. From the time we entered first grade together until we finished high school, people always got our names confused! Is it Rutha Mae or Ruby Mae? We laughed it off and kept it moving.
