March 6, 1943 - August 10, 2025

Alice Wagner, 82, of Columbus, NE, died Sunday, August 10, 2025, at The Independence Houses - Mandarin in Lincoln, NE.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 15, at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Cory Burma officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM at Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue Friday, from 9:30 AM until service time, at the church. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 AM on Friday, at the church. Interment will be in Columbus Cemetery. The funeral service will be broadcast live on Peace Lutheran YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@PeaceColumbus . Memorials may be directed to Peace Lutheran Church or Pawnee Chapter 20 Disabled American Veterans.

Alice Elizabeth Wagner (Kluck) was born on March 6, 1943, in Columbus, to Earl and Ruth (Stevenson) Kluck. After graduating high school, she attended the Personnel Training Institute in Omaha, Nebraska and also later attended Platte College in Columbus. She worked Becton Dickinson for over 40 years.

Alice was married to Lonnie Anderson in 1962 and three children were born to this union. The couple later divorced. Alice was united in marriage to Raymond Wagner on September 5, 1981.

Alice was very involved in her church, Peace Lutheran, serving in numerous offices in LWML, secretary to the church council, on the evangelism board, and in Stephen Ministry.

Alice was very supportive of veterans' causes, serving as Commander of the Disabled American Veterans Auxillary and also as State Chaplain. Over the years, she was asked to lead the effort to make and distribute over 6,000 cookies to returning National Guard troops and their families.

Alice enjoyed gardening (sharing her bounty with neighbors), flowers, bowling with her BD co-workers, golfing, woodworking, painting flower pots, attending Friends of Music concerts and studying genealogy.

Alice is survived by daughter, Jackie (Ron) Williams of Lincoln; daughter, Becky (Brian) Bierman of Lincoln; son, Matt (Amy) Anderson of Kalispell, MT; stepdaughter, Toni Sims of Dayton, OH; stepdaughter, Sharon Culbert; son of Clifton, OH; stepdaughter, Doris (Greg) Fox of Pleasantville, OH; grandchildren, Zachary Williams, Jordan Williams, Jackson Bierman, Alexus (Taylor) Reed, Aleece Anderson, Alayna Anderson, Alyvia Anderson; great-granddaughter, Lemon Reed; Many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sharyn Wagner of California; brother-in-law, Kenny Wagner of Fabens, TX; many nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by, husband of 33 years, Raymond Wagner; parents: Earl and Ruth Stevenson) Kluck; stepdaughter, Cheryl Wagner; step-son, LeRoy "Lee" Wagner; sisters, Rose Ann (Stellhorn) Jacksich and Ruth Esslinger; sister-in-law, Connie Wagner; brothers-in-law, Bruce Wagner, Roger Wagner, Bill Wagner, Dick Wagner, Gus Stellhorn, Fritz Jacksich and Erwin Esslinger.
