COLUMBUS - Frederick C. Kluck Jr., 74, of Columbus, died Sunday, March 28, 2010, at the Columbus Community Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Federated Church in Columbus with Rev. Dr. Jim Wooten and Rev. Don Wilson officiating.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, at Gass Haney Funeral Home. Private family interment will be in the Roselawn Cemetery in Columbus.
Frederick Kluck, Jr. was born July 18, 1935, in Columbus, to Frederick and Clara (Brown) Kluck, Sr. He graduated from Kramer High School and went on to achieve his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. Fred was a member of the Air National Guard for four years where he was a part of the Air Police.
On August 28, 1959, Fred was united in marriage to Jane Ellefson to which two sons were born. On July 14, 1996, Fred married D'Ete (Schumacher) Haldiman. Fred was a lifelong cattle feeder and farmer. He operated Fred Kluck Feed Yards until his retirement in 2000. Fred continued to work for Bill Lehr until his health began to fail this last fall. Fred had a love for animals, enjoyed fishing and playing bridge.
Fred is survived by his wife, D'Ete Haldiman-Kluck, of Columbus; son, Fred (Myra) Kluck III, of Bruning; grandchild, Johanna Kluck; son, Douglas (Julie) Kluck, of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchild, Vaughn Kluck; step-daughter, Shari (Mitch) Neal, of Lincoln; step-grandchildren, Logan and Falyn Neal; step-son, David (Terina) Haldiman, of Virginia Beach, Va.; step-grandchildren, Christina and David Jr. Haldiman; sister, Ruth (Dick) Lauer, of Lubbock, Texas; brother, Brian (Josette) Kluck, of Richland; brother, Greg (Terri) Kluck, of Omaha; and numerous nieces and nephews
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Clara Kluck Sr.
