James Herbert
OMAHA - James A. Herbert, 87, of Omaha, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. today, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Omaha. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Omaha.
Visitation was 2 p.m. Thursday, with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m., and a 7 p.m. vigil service, all at the West Center Chapel.
James A. Herbert was born in Sidney on March 20, 1922.
He is survived by his wife, Helen C. Herbert; children and spouses, Jim and Sue Herbert, Mary Humann, Tom and Nancy Herbert, Nancy and Dan Galloway, Kathy and Bill Becker, John and Kari Herbert, Patti and Tom Donney, Don and Patty Herbert, and Tim and Doreen Herbert; 29 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Grace Meysenburg; stepsister, Joyce Kreski and husband, Harold; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Herbert Snyder; stepbrother, Max Bruckner; and stepsister, Mary Jean Richards.
Memorials to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, St. Margaret Mary Church, or Creighton University Scholarship Fund.
