Lucille Scullion Obituary

Lucille "Nancy" Scullion

March 29, 1947 - October 16, 2024

Lucille "Nancy" Scullion of Mesa, Ariz., died in Mesa on Oct. 16, 2024.

Nancy was born in David City, Neb., on March 29, 1947, to Harry and Anna Reisdorff and grew up on the family farm in the Marietta community. She graduated from the College of St. Mary's with a B.A. in music. She initially taught music in parochial schools in Omaha.

In 1974, Nancy moved to Arizona where she met and married Michael Scullion in 1980. They were soul mates for about 44 years. She continued her religious studies and taught music in various schools in the greater Phoenix area. She loved all the children she taught.

Nancy, using her music background, later became an activity director at various senior assist facilities in the Mesa area. She was dedicated to the seniors at each location.

After retiring, Nancy and Mike enjoyed traveling. They took coach tours across the U.S. and Canada, and three trips to Ireland and England to visit Mike's large family. Nancy loved Ireland. They also took 18 cruises.

Nancy willed her body to medical science. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Nancy is survived by her beloved husband, two brothers, John of Worden, Mont., and Jim of David City, Neb.; two sisters, Joan (Cordell) Tomlin of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Janie (Gordon) Harting of Omaha; and ten nieces and nephews.
