OSCEOLA - Margaret Phyllis Buresh, age 83, of Syracuse, formerly of Osceola, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse.
Services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola, with the Rev. Clifford Hoper officiating. Burial will be at the Osceola Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Dubas Funeral Home in Osceola.
Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg is in charge of arrangements.
Margaret was born Oct. 12, 1923 to John and Sigrid (Johnson) Boden in Osceola. She attended school in Osceola, graduating from Osceola High School in 1941.
On Jan. 10, 1942 she was united in marriage to Henry F. Buresh in Osceola. To this union three daughters were born.
The family farmed near Stromsburg for a short time before moving to a farm northwest of Osceola. Margaret was a farm/housewife until they retired and moved into Osceola in 1990. In May of 2006 Margaret moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Syracuse where she resided until her death.
Margaret was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Neighborhood Fillabuster Club and was a 4-H leader. She enjoyed several hobbies including cake decorating, seamstress, crocheting, toll painting, embroidering quilts and baking the best bread. Margaret also sewed many quilts for the church.
Survivors include her daughters, Barbara (Gordon) Buesing of North Platte, Shirley (Jerry) Siefken of Syracuse and Mary (Randee) Fry of Fort Colling, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Amy and Aaron Siefken; Kevin Oman, Melissa Stacy, Erin Berryman and Kari Wurdeman; and nine great grandchildren, Jenna Siefken, Lauren Siefken, Jordan Pulver, Cole Oman, Camrin Stacy, Samuel Stacy, Paige Berryman, Amber Berryman, and Alissa Berryman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, who died Aug. 29, 2005; her parents, John and Sigrid Boden; and one sister, Frances Sandell.
