YORK - Patricia "Pat" Spidle, 68, of York, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, in York.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St Joseph's Catholic Church in York. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at York.
Visitation will be held until 9 p.m. Wednesday with a rosary service at 7 p.m. at Metz Mortuary in York.
She was born March 17, 1939, to Jack and Mary Hendricks of Battle Creek. Pat was a caretaker to all and was employed for over fifteen years at Pamida Discount Center and for five years at Blue Valley Community Action, both in York.
Pat was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in York, the Altar Society, and the York Fire Department Smoky Lassies Auxiliary. She enjoyed making ceramics and traveling state to state to different ceramic events. She also enjoyed antiquing, collecting Fenton Glass, cooking for her family, loved being around her grandchildren and cared deeply for her 'girls', as her family dogs were known. Pat had a passion for the Blessed Mary and for praying the Rosary. The Christmas season was a special season for Pat as she enjoyed decorating her home with numerous Christmas tree lights throughout her home.
On Dec. 10, 1960, she was married to Harrison "Bud" Spidle in Columbus.
She is survived by her husband, Bud of York; a son, Chuck, and his wife, Tammy Spidle of Grand Island; two daughters, Lynn and her spouse, Jim Sievers, of York and Kim and her spouse, Hank Jensen, of Exeter; grandchildren, Jeremy Jo Metcalf and his fiancée, Jennifer Higgenbothem, of York, Gus Michael Burhoop and his fiancée, Candace Stickman, of Norfolk, Lance Dillion Jensen of Exeter, Harrison Blake Spidle of Grand Island, Charlie Dawn Spidle of York, Ashley Lynn Wagner of York; great grandchildren, Jory Elex Metcalf of Utica, Xander Jo Metcalf of York, Ora Lee Fulsos of York, Scott Michael Fulsos of York, Domanik Jaymes Molt of York, and Sebastian Joeseph Wagner of York; two sisters, Sharon and Kenneth Carlson of Lincoln and Rose Hilger of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Sharon and Charles McElfresh of Nebraska City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her aunt, Pearl Fredericson; and her parents-in-law, Harry and Nettie Spidle.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
