It has been 5 years now. Miss you, friend. I still remember the songs we sang together and the times spent. Looking at the memories shared by many others, it is obvious that you touched many lives. May that legacy of concern and love live on in the rest of us. Rest in God's arms and see you someday. Andy

Had a Stephen moment last Easter. I sang the Don Francisco song, "He's Alive." It is a song Steve introduced me to back in high school days and one that we would sing together. These remembrances make me thankful for Christ's resurrection and the promise of our resurrection. Peace, Steve. See you someday. Andy

Dr. Steve was an amazing man, his contribution to the world of kindness and caring will not be forgotten. His contributions to the skating world will be greatly missed. I always looked forward to seeing him at meets, his smile was contagious. I know the Memphis Skating Club will greatly miss him, as we will in Union, Missouri.

Stephen was a playmate on Lipsey St., a colleague in high school, a companion at Edgewater Baptist Church, a protector during college and a friend for life. Although we had not been able to connect in person for too many years, Stephen, you've always been part of my fondest memories. Triena and Luke, may you find peace in knowing of the love and friendship Stephen offered to so many over the years. Rest well, my friend Stephen.

Dr "W" as I always called him was a truly remarkable man and an inspiration to me and others. He had a sincere caring heart and it showed through his actions. He will be greatly missed by so many. He helped me on an occasion when no other doctor in Memphis could answer my medical questions. He didn't do this during his "office hours" but on his own time. I knew him not only through my career at QSource, but also as a fellow member of Hope. No matter the setting, Dr W was always reaching out to others to provide help, advice, a caring attitude or simply a kind word. My prayers are with his family. I will miss you Dr W!

Dr. Winbery was a very special person. He was a great preceptor, doctor, and a great friend when I needed him. He helped me survive the VA and NP school. He even allowed me, my family and all my friends to take over his house for my graduation party! He will truly be missed!

Dr. Steve,
You are one of the finest people I've ever known. You always had a kind word and a big smile, and you helped make our figure roller skating club a wonderful group to be part of. You made the most of every hour you were given, and truly led by example.

Much love to you, Triena and all of your family and friends.

Stephen Winbery was the most caring and giving person I have ever met. He tirelessly worked for the good of others. His passing is not only a loss to his family, friends, and the medical community, it is a loss of goodness in this world that needs it so badly.

Stephen was one of the kindest and most giving people I have ever known. His gentle nature was matched by his great joy in helping others. He was widely regarded as an excellent physician, a man of great faith and of course, a marvelous husband, father and friend. So many people have been graced by the life of Stephen Winbery, and mere words can never fully capture was an amazing person he was. His impact, love, generosity, and kindness will live on and on through the people lucky enough to have known him. May God grant him eternal rest.

Triena and Luke, words cannot express how sorry I am to hear this news. Steve will be missed by all who knew him. He was a person that you could call on for anything and truly a friend to many.

Triena and Luke,

I am richer for having known Stephen. The sick and injured of Memphis and West Tennessee are better off for having been cared for by him. The people who participated in his many ministries through Hope Presbyterian or who were on the receiving end of his many kindnesses are blessed.

This week I've heard many stories about how much Stephen helped people. I experienced his kindness and generosity myself when I was working out of state and my mom became seriously ill at home. By phone Stephen calmed me down and gave me detailed instructions on how to help my mom. I will never forget his kind sharing of his knowledge and expertise.

But best of all was seeing how much Stephen loved you Triena and how proud he was of you Luke. I am so glad that you two got to experience the love and affection of this great and fine man.
