Wilhelmina,

We always expected to hear from Tom, and had talked recently about how he must be enjoying this fall's football games. We are so sad, and yet we celebrate that we were blessed by his friendship and love. We know we will miss him and we are praying for God to cover you and yours with His peace---that is beyond our understanding. We will be forever grateful for Tom's love for us, and for keeping us in contact with other PDG's.

Dear Patterson Family, I am so sorry to read about Tom's death. I knew him through Rotary and also through Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. He was a fine gentleman and served his fellowman beyond measure. I am sure he will be deeply missed. May God comfort you and hold you close to His heart.

I knew Tom because we were both Rotarians. He was a member of the Southaven Rotary Club and I am a member of the Rotary Club of Memphis Central. The Rotary organization and its ideals were very important to Tom as demonstrated by the many offices he held both in his club and our District 6800. Tom was very helpful to me five or six years ago when he was the District Governor and I was the president-elect of my club. While we weren't really related, he always joked that we could well be distant cousins (even though Patterson is my married name!). He was a fine gentleman and an all-around good guy.

We will miss him very much. My heartfelt condolences to Wilhelmina and the other members of Tom's family.
