John A. Collins

Concord, NH - John Andrew "Jack" Collins, son of the late Laurence J. and Signe T. (Tinnerholm) Collins, formerly of Marblehead, passed away peacefully July 26, at 85 years old, following a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease.

John graduated from Marblehead High School, served in the United States Air Force, and later obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Northeastern University. John worked in Management of Facilities Operations at Dartmouth College and Amesbury Hospital.

John's lifelong passion was to better himself and to help people. He was a devout Christian who cared deeply about his family and friends. John was a dedicated member of the AA community and an inspiration to many in his 55 years of sobriety. He most cherished spending time with his three children and four grandchildren.

John leaves behind his beloved family; son John P. Collins and his wife Therese of Beverly, son Scott M. Collins and his wife Jessica of Westford, daughter Andrea (Collins) Dickerson of Newbury, NH, and sister Jean Collins of Bethlehem, PA. He leaves behind four grandchildren: Ryan, Caroline, Noah, and Benjamin. John was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Swasey.

Visiting hours at Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street Beverly, on Friday, August 11th, from 4pm to 7pm. A memorial service will be held at Taftsville Chapel, 121 Happy Valley Road, Woodstock, VT on Saturday, August 12th at 12pm. Burial services will be private.
