Marjorie Nelson Obituary

Marjorie (Wilhelmsen) Nelson, 78, of Concord, N.H., passed away unexpectedly at her home on May 17, 2015 and was gathered into the arms of her Heavenly Father. She was born on the 4th of July in 1936 in Barre, Vermont. She had fond memories of growing up in Presque Isle and Mapleton, Maine. Marjorie spent the last eight years at Florence Hodges Apartments, enjoying priceless friendships and the company of her beloved dog, Sassy.

She was predeceased by her father, Frithjoff Wilhelmsen from Oslo, Norway and her mother Frances Davis Wilhelmsen and her three siblings; Alfred, Leonard and Fern. She leaves behind her daughter, Sigrid Little and her husband David of Loudon and her son, David J. Nelson and his wife Paula of Chichester; three grandchildren, Danielle Little, Matthew Nelson, and Gabrielle DeCoste; four great grandchildren, Brandon and Trevor Morse, and Alexander and Lauryn DeCoste. She also leaves behind some very special friends, nieces, nephews and two sisters in law.

Marjorie loved her children and grandchildren, her little dog Sassy, cooking, flowers, birds, animals, and was an accomplished knitter and crocheter. At the age of 60, after many years working as a bookkeeper for the United Church of Christ Conference office, Marjorie put herself through nursing school with honors. She put her faith in the Lord and was a member of the Concord Seventh-day Adventist church.

There will be a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on June 8th at Maple Grove Cemetery in West Concord where Marjorie will rest with her parents. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully accepted for the care and upkeep of her beloved dog, Sassy, who has been adopted into the home of some very dear friends of Marjorie's. For memorial contribution information, please email [email protected]

The family is exceedingly grateful to all those that loved her and cared for Marjorie during these last difficult months.

The Cremation Society of N.H. and Phaneuf Funeral Home of Manchester, NH are assisting the family.

Marge I don't know where the time has gone. I think about you so often and wish so many times that you, Judi and my mom were still here. FVH is not the same without all of you. So many changes and new people. I know the three of you are keeping Heaven hopping. Love and miss you all.

Sigrid and David J. Have lost a central figure in their life. While I was a newcomer over the past few years, I shared many family get together with mom and Sissi. She was a errific and much loved "character" too and particularly to Danielle, Trevor, and Brandon. She had a sense of fun and shared her views fluently. I liked my contacts with her immensely. We will miss Marjorie immensely and will remember her fondly in the coming years. She was an inspiration and a mentor for many FVH Apts residents. From those residents who could not attend graveside services. we enjoyed hearing the many stories of Aunt Jenny.
