Paul Szalajeski Obituary

Paul Szalajeski

Pembroke, NH - It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Paul J. Szalajeksi on May 20th, 2023 after a four month courageous battle with brain cancer. He was devoted to his family and friends. Paul's bright light will shine on as he continues to watch over his family and friends.

Paul was born on February 1st, 1958 in Boston, Ma and was the son of Thaddeus and A. Estelle (Daroska) Szalajeksi. He was a remarkable, kindhearted man always willing to lend a helping hand to all. Paul will be missed by all that knew him.

He leaves behind his loving wife, best friend and partner of 35 years, Kathy Ellis; stepdaughter, Kaira Ellis; stepson, Forrest Ellis; daughter, Marybeth Szalajeksi; brother, James Szalajeski; sister, Joan Szalajeski; a grandson; a great grandson and other family members. He is also remembered by numerous friends and work family who he shared his life with.

Paul loved spending time with family and friends, especially vacationing in Ocean Park, Maine. He enjoyed watching his stepchildren play ice hockey and traveled throughout the world to see them compete. Paul was predeceased in April 2023, by his loving golden retriever, Brady. He will be missed by his two golden retrievers, Katy and Finnegan who he loved unconditionally.

Paul was a dedicated master electrician, recently employed by PIC Group, Inc. (formerly Central Rivers Power). He was previously employed by Eversource Energy and Longchamps Electric. Paul was a member of IBEW 1837.

Along with being a master electrician with a great attention to detail, he was a jack of all trades with an incredible ability to fix anything. If he couldn't fix it immediately, he would figure out a way to do so. Many of his friends nicknamed him, MacGyver. Paul has touched many people's lives and he truly cared for and valued each member of his work family. He was a hard worker always putting his family first.

Paul will be remembered for his concern for others and his devotion to Kathy, Kaira and Forrest.

At Paul's request, no services will be held. A celebration of Paul's life will held at a later date.

Kathy and family, I am so very sad to know that Paul has passed. He was one of the good ones - hard-working, humble, selfless, and always willing to help someone out. How lucky you all were to have him in your life and experience his love. He will be greatly missed and I hope he and Brady have found each other. Rest in peace, Paul.
