William Bruton Obituary
Concord, NH - William J. Bruton MD, of Concord NH and Harwich MA, previously of Summit NJ, died unexpectedly in Concord on Monday April 8.
Dr. Bruton was member of Concord Orthopedics, and prior to that the Summit Medical Group, where he served as president and a Chief Orthopedic Surgeon at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ.
He was a graduate of Georgetown Medical School and Georgetown University, and trained at NY Hospital for Special Surgery and Yale New Haven Medical Center.
William leaves his beloved wife, Barbara, as well as daughter Catherine Bruton Vrountas and her husband Christopher Vrountas, of Andover MA, daughter Susan Bruton Waggoner and her husband David Waggoner of Midway Utah, daughter Elizabeth Bruton Charapp and her husband David Charapp of Boxford MA, grandchildren Sarah Vrountas, Anna Vrountas, Daniel Charapp, Jake Waggoner, Lauren Waggoner and William Charapp.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday April 24, 2024, at 11 am at Holy Trinity Church in West Harwich MA. Interment will follow at the Holy Trinity Church Columbarium.

I am so sorry for the family , wife and daughters of Bill. We were once very good friends when I was a student at the University of Maryland, and Bill was in his last year of Med School at Georgetown. I know how you feel, as I just lost my husband, Robert Shuck on March 10/24. We would have been married 64 years on June 11.

So sorry to hear about Bill's death. I happily remember our years together as residents at HSS and together we traveled to Chicago to take the first part of the Orthopedic Board exam. Great times, great memories.

My deepest condolences to Barbara and family. I worked with Bill for 25 years at COPA and Loon; enjoying and sharing his wisdom, experience, friendship, and deep faith. May he rest in peace.

I worked w/Dr Bruton at Loon Mountain for many years. He was always eager and happy to help. He always had a humorous story to share. His and Barbara's marriage was something to admire. Barbara would always come along with him, sit in the waiting room knit/crochet and chat with the people who were waiting while their loved ones were cared for. Dr Bruton had a very special way with the children who came in for care. He will truly be missed. Rest in peace Dr Bruton you were one of a kind.
