David Marchant, Obituary
Rev. Marchant, a native of Savannah was born on May 1, 1947, the son of the late Nanny and James Marchant. He was a graduate of H.V. Jenkins High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Following his military tenure, he served with a youth service program for nine years and after pastored Evangel Temple Full Gospel Church for over 45 years. He earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Christian Counseling from Cornerstone University.
Rev. Marchant was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Marchant. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Cherry Marchant; daughter, Rebecca Borell; son, David Marchant, Jr. (Becky); sister, Betty Jacobs; and grandchildren, TJ Borell and Kylee Borell.
The family will be receiving friends at 10:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Evangel Temple Full Gospel Church. Burial will follow the funeral service at Greenwich Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David I. Marchant Jr., TJ Borell, Parker Jacobs, Emmanuel Anthony, Robbie Johnson, and Nick Scofield.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Evangel Temple Church, c/o Cherry Marchant.
