David Yeager Obituary

David "Bud" Maurice Yeager, 91, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 13, 2021. Bud was born on September 4, 1930 in Groesbeck, Texas to Manuel and David Ellen Yeager.

Bud as he was affectionately called by all who knew him, graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1948 and went onto Texas A&M where he graduated in 1952. Bud was an Aggie through and through as he played on the freshman football team and then was a member of the Aggie Corps of Cadets-Company "A" QMC. When he graduated in 1952 Bud went into the Army and proudly served his country. Upon his return, he went back to Texas A&M and earned his Master's degree in Education and became a teacher, coach and principal spending his years in Marshall Junior High, Black Junior High and finally Furr High School. Bud was a longtime member of Park Place Baptist church in Houston, Texas. When he retired Bud enjoyed carpentry, a passion he shared with his son, tending to his vegetable garden and either going to or watching his beloved Aggies play football.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 40 years; Helen Yeager and his sister Betty Williams. He is survived by his five children; Vickie Allman (Dennis), Suzanne Isbell (Robert), Pam Kainer (Don), David L Yeager (Debbie) and Stephanie Virgadamo (Paul); 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Bud will also be missed by his special friends at Balfour, Giesinger, Silversage, Sue Anderson and the fighting Texas Aggie class of '52.

A visitation for Bud will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel located at 2300 Stringer Street, Brenham, Texas. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at Mims Baptist Church located at 1609 Porter Road, Conroe, Texas 77301. A private family burial will take place in Georgetown, Texas.

David Yeager was my orincipal when I taught at Furr High School. I learned many things about being a principal from him...namely, hire the best people you can, support them with budget needs, discipline needs and get out of their way and let them do what they do best...teach school. Much of what he did was manage by observing. I aooreciated working for him.

As a student and proud graduate in the Great Class of '78 of Ebbert L. Furr Jr. Sr. High School - of which he was our well-respected Principal for many years - I am extending my deepest condolences to the family. May he rest in eternal peace and the family find consolation.

Mr. Yeager was a fantastic principal. He knew just abut every students name and prided himself on being able to do that. Some days he would roam the campus with a folding chair under his arm. You knew that meant that he was going to pop into a classroom and sit down and observe. I personally loved when he did that as it always meant that he would pipe up with a funny saying while he was there. Rest in peace Mr. Yeager.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Yeager when I taught school at Giessinger Elementary. The Good Lord blessed him with a friendly, kind, caring personality ...a man who truly never met a stranger. He genuinely made others feel valued. My deepest condolences to his beloved family, daughters, grandchildren and great grands. Grieve deeply as you will miss his presence but rejoice greatly as you look forward to your eternal, heavenly reunion.
