June Scherling, 72, fell asleep on April 1, 2025, and is awaiting the Return of the Lord. She was surrounded by her husband, daughters and close friends, who sang to her as she took her last breath.
June was born June 9, 1952, in Kountze, Tx and at six months of age, moved to Ohio with her family. When she was 10, they moved back to Texas, to a neighborhood in Jacinto City. June participated in theatre arts and clubs at school. She was very smart and at the time even did her older brother's homework. She graduated from Furr High School in 1970. After high school, June worked various jobs trying to find herself.
By God's design, June met her future husband in 1975 when he and a friend were going door to door witnessing God's word. They were close friends for a year before they started dating and on December 17, 1977, they were married. It was June's passion to become a mother and in April of 1979, they welcomed their first of three daughters into their newly built home. June was a loving mother and wife, who was active in the PTA and school activities her children were involved in. Her love for children and the Lord led her to coordinate and help lead children's fellowship in the Houston area for 3 years.
June loved to do arts and crafts, her favorite being calligraphy and she adorned her home in scriptures in her beautiful handwriting. She also loved to do logic and crossword puzzles, of course never in pencil. At one point she was asked to join MENSA but turned it down.
June is proceeded in death by her mother Thelma Bowen. She leaves behind her brother Charles Argabrite and his wife Donna (Kosse, Tx), her husband of 47 years, Michael Scherling (Houston, TX); three daughters, Sarah Keller and husband Stephen (Cypress, TX), Lydia Arrighi and husband Nick (Houston, TX), Heather Scherling and partner Blake Lassiter (Houston, TX); eight grandchildren, Caspian Torres (Las Cruces, NM), Gavin Torres-Scherling (Cypress, TX), Preston Ramirez, Dominic Arrighi, Brianna Ramirez, Aleigha Quintero, Sophia Quintero and Mason Arrighi (All in Houston, TX); and one great grandchild, Aiden Torres. She also leaves behind many close family friends and a wonderful, supportive fellowship family.
