James Conroe Obituary
James was proceeded in death by his parents, Raymond and Pearl Helton, daughter, Crystal Garcia, and niece, Alicia Helton.
He is survived by his brother, David and wife Sherry Helton of Willis, TX; seven children: Dana Singleton of Conroe, TX - Dawn and Chris Clark of Madisonville, TX - Casey Helton of Beverly Hills, FL - Heather Helton and Charles White of Willis, TX - James Allen and Amber Helton of Conroe, TX - Albert and Jessica Richard of Onalaska, TX - Melissa and Donnie Finney of Cleveland, TX; 25 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; special friend, Connie Nicholson; as well as many more family members and friends to mourn his passing.
With his quick wit and dry humor, James was always entertaining.
James was a proud member of the United States Army, demonstrating his leadership skills by becoming the youngest soldier to achieve the rank of E6 while serving in Vietnam. He served his country with honor, but that service also left him with silent scars that troubled him throughout the rest of his life.
Like a brave and loyal soldier, he has finished his assignment and is now at peace with his Lord and Savior.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 9:00 to 10:00 am in the chapel of McNutt Funeral Home. A memorial service with Military honors will start at 10:00 am.
