James Leon Standridge, 87, of Dover, Arkansas, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025, at his home in Dover.
He was born September 9, 1937, in Dover to Frank and Ruby Beare Standridge. James married Alice Standridge on March 9, 1958, in Pelsor. He worked as a mill operator for Tyson Foods and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
James was a member of Calvary Temple Assembly of God and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and working around the farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Garner and Luvern Legate; two brothers, Charles Beare and Roy Standridge; a granddaughter, Courtney George; and a grandson, Jeremy Davis.
James is survived by his wife, Alice Standridge of Dover; three daughters, Diane Davis, Kathy Childress, and Lizz George; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Junior Standridge and Carl Gene Standridge; and a sister, Frances Jones.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 31, 2025, at Calvary Temple Assembly of God with Rev. Jeff Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Lane Cemetery in Dover under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
