Roy Paul Turner, age 92, of Morrilton, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Russellville. He was born January 8, 1933, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, the son of George Turner, Sr. and Eunice Anderson Turner. He was the widower of Reba Looney Turner. He was a member of the Morrilton First Assembly of God for 74 years.
He served in the Korean War Army from 1953 to 1955. Once he returned to Morrilton, he started his career painting with Winrock Farms-Petit Jean Mountain. He then joined Wayne Lilley Sr. and Jr. Painting Company for many years before becoming a self-employed painter in the community. Upon retirement, he became a devoted caregiver to his wife, who had a long battle with Alzheimer's.
He is survived by his daughters, Cindy (Steve) Coffman, and Pam (Don) Goodson, both of Hattieville; four grandchildren, Lindsey Barber of Bentonville, Tyler (Tiana) Goodson of Hattieville, Emily (Hunter) Holthoff of Benton, and Katie (Matt) Millsap of Ozark, Missouri; and nine great-grandchildren.
Other than his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde Turner, George Franklin Turner, Jr., and Jerrel Turner; and sisters, Mary Sanders, Claudia Stracner, Wilma Jean Urquhart, and Euna Mae Gibby.
A graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 23, at Elmwood Cemetery with Rev. Larry Miller officiating. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Cindy and Pam would like to thank Dr. Kevin Beavers and Brookdale Assisted Living for all the loving care and support to our dad.
